The history of ACC COLUMBIA Jet Service GmbH dates back to 1975, when it was founded as "TÜV Rheinland Luftfahrttechnik GmbH" in Cologne. Initially it was enganged in the maintenance of piston engine aircraft. In 1995 the company was taken over by Mr. Joachim Taube and colleagues and renamed to "Aviation Center Cologne Flugzeugwartung GmbH" ("ACC"). ACC extended their portfolio of capabilities to include the maintenance of Learjet and Challenger aircraft in 1996 and in 2001 the Part-21 design organisation approval was first awarded to ACC. Following the expansion of its scope of services, 2003 saw the extension of the Hangar 7 to provide more space. Later on additional space was rented in Hangar 3 in 2005 to accommodate the increasing demand. A satellite station in Luxembourg was opened in 2006 and the company´s capabilities were further extended by the receipt of the Part-M approval.

In 2008 "COLUMBIA Jet Service GmbH" was founded to establish and operate an aircraft maintenance organisation in Hangar 16 at Hannover airport, which was then under construction, by a subsidiary of Schoeller-Holdings Ltd.
Both companies joined forces in October 2009 as it became obvious that they gave a perfect match in the combination of their assets and capabilities. Following the merger, the company now operates as "ACC COLUMBIA Jet Service GmbH" as a subsidiary of COLUMBIA (Deutschland) GmbH.
